Safety Week

Skanska is committed to Safety. Skanska Safety Week is an important week in the Skanska calendar. The twelfth Skanska Safety Week took place on April 25 to May 1, 2016.

In 2004 it started with one day of activities for Skanska employees. In 2005 it became a week of activities involving everyone on the jobsite. From that point Safety Week has grown both in the number of activities but also the number of people and organizations that take part.

In 2014 our colleagues in each of our home markets reached out to industry colleagues to make Safety Week a more inclusive event with competitors, suppliers and contractors, clients and designers taking part. Truly an industry event.

Skanska Safety Week 2016

Each year we have a theme for Skanska Safety Week and this year it  was ”Plan for Today” which is directly connected to “Pre Task Planning”. We know that by carefully planning each task we can understand the safety hazards and so keep our colleagues safe and they can return home healthy.

Thousands of activities took place during Skanska Safety Week at construction jobsites, depots and offices across Skanska, inspiring not just the 43,000 Skanska employees but also our quarter of a million sub-contractors, partners and customers.

We believe that everyone has the right to come home unharmed at the end of each work day and Safety Week gives us an opportunity to remind ourselves more intensely on what is an everyday challenge.
