Skanska is assessed periodically by a number of Socially Responsible Investment (SRI) organisations including FTSE4Good (UK), EIRIS (UK), Vigeo (France) and Oekom (Germany). It is also assessed by SRI analysts employed by some of its major shareholders and potential investors. Below are some of the most significant awards and recognition listed per year:

2014

  • Skanska achieved a position in CDP’s Climate Disclosure Leadership Index (CDLI). We were also the #1 Nordic construction company – for the fifth consecutive year.
  • Member of the FTSE4Good Index Series since 2007
  • For our on-going commitment to sustainability we retained AAA (top-3) rating in our peer group in the MSCI Intangible Value Assessment 

2013

  • Skanska won the 2013 FT ArcelorMittal Boldness in Business Awards in the corporate responsibility and environment category
  • Skanska achieved a position in CDP’s Nordic 260 Climate Disclosure Leadership Index. We were also the #1 Nordic construction company - for the fourth consecutive year. In addition we are the best Swedish company - all sectors
  • Skanska is a component of the STOXX® Global ESG Leaders indices
  • Skanska’s 3rd largest shareholder Swedbank rates it “Good Example” for its Robur SRI Funds and acknowledges the MSCI ESG AAA rating
  • Member of the FTSE4Good Social Responsibility Index
  • In the Sustainability Risk Rating Analysis of Stockholm based GES Investment Services, Skanska outscored Construction & Engineering peers with 4.5 compared to a sector average 2.4
  • UN Global Compact accepts our 2013 “Communication on Progress” and grants us “GC Active” status.  We have been active participants in the UN GC for over a decade.

2012

  • Top construction company in the Nordics in the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP)
  • Skanska is a component of the STOXX® Global ESG Leaders indices
  • Member of the FTSE4Good Social Responsibility Index
  • Skanska has "Prime" status in the classification system of German sustainability research agency Oekom. This means that it ranks amongst the world's best companies in its industry.
  • UN Global Compact accepts our 2012 “Communication on Progress” and grants us “GC Active” status.  We have been active participants in the UN GC for over a decade.

2011

  • Member of the FTSE4Good Social Responsibility Index
  • Top construction company in the Nordics in the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP)
  • Skanska is the only construction company included in the ”Forest Footprint Disclosure” report, a special project of the Global Canopy Foundation
  • Skanska CEO and President, Johan Karlström, placed 32nd in the Top-100 list of the most environmentally powerful people in Sweden and the only representative from the construction sector
  • Highest sector rating possible in Swiss bank Sarasin's sustainability assessment
  • Swedish bank Nordea rates Skanska's sustainability credentials as Mature (A) with Positive (+) trend
  • French sustainability rating agency Vigeo ranked Skanska 3rd of 16 stock market-listed European heavy construction companies

2010

  • Top construction company in the Nordics and featured in the leadership index, Nordic Region, in the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP)
