When comparing the culture of unions in Sweden and our other markets and the US especially, there are differences - even at the state level within the US. For example, our largest project ever, LaGuardia Airport in New York, has 23 trade unions represented. In other states, such as Florida, union traditions are different, creating different conditions for Skanska to conduct its operations. When it comes to the issue of external site visits, they must be planned and organized in advance and implemented together with the company.
In accordance with our values Skanska supports the rights of workers to organize and will remain open to working with unions in every region of the US.
