Press release

Skanska has together with Pöyry and Ramboll signed an agreement with The Finnish Transport Agency on the improvement of Highway 6 between Taavetti and Lappeenranta. The total value is EUR 76 M. Skanska’s share is EUR 67 M, about SEK 630 M, which will be included in the order bookings for Skanska Finland in the third quarter 2015.

Highway 6 is the main road connection in South Karelia in Eastern Finland. The section to be improved to a four-lane road with a central barrier is 28 km, of which 12 km is entirely new road. Environmental impacts are mitigated with noise and groundwater protection.

The implementation model of the project is an alliance where the client and companies form one common organization. They are responsible for the design and construction and jointly share the risks and opportunities.

The project will be completed one section at a time in 2017 and 2018.

The combined sales for Skanska Oy’s operations in 2014 were SEK 7.8 billion and the company employed about 2,200 people.
