Skanska builds shopping center in Jyväskylä, Finland, for EUR 57 M, about SEK 480 M

Skanska has signed a contract with the investor LähiTapiola Group for the construction of Seppä shopping center in Jyväskylä, Finland. The contract value is EUR 57 M, about SEK 480 M, which will be included in the order bookings for Skanska Finland for the first quarter of 2016.

The shopping center developed by Skanska Finland will have around 24,000 square meters of rentable space. The extensive selection of shops will concentrate on fashion, sports and leisure. There will also be a wide variety of restaurants available. The underground floor of the two-storey shopping center will contain a parking hall for 600 cars and 110 bicycles.

Construction of the shopping center will begin immediately and the project is expected to be completed in September 2017.

Skanska Finland is one of the leading construction companies in Finland. The company is active in building construction, residential and commercial premises, as well as civil engineering projects. The combined sales for Skanska Oy’s operations in 2014 were SEK 7.8 billion and the company employed about 2,200 people.
