Skanska restores lagoon in San Diego, USA, for USD 38M, about SEK 325M
Skanska has, in a joint venture with Flatiron and Stacy and Witbeck, signed a contract with the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) for a new segment of the Interstate 5 North Coast Corridor Phase 1 Project in San Diego, USA. The total contract is worth USD 94M. Skanska will include its USD 38M portion, about SEK 325M, of the contract in the US order bookings for the fourth quarter 2017.
This contract covers the restoration of the about 390 hectares San Elijo Lagoon and is part of a variety of improvements to the I-5 freeway North Coast Corridor. The scope of work includes clearing and grubbing, dredging, replenishing beach sand dredge material, enhancing tidal channels, and constructing transitional wetland areas and a nesting site.
Construction of the project will begin this month with completion scheduled for early 2021.
