Skanska to renovate and expand Brookline High School in Massachusetts, USA, for USD 128 M, about SEK 1.1 billion
Skanska has signed a contract with Brookline High School in Massachusetts, USA. The contract is worth USD 128 M, about SEK 1.1 billion, which will be included in the order bookings for Skanska USA for the fourth quarter of 2018.
Skanska will construct a new, approximately 11,000-square-meter academic building that will include classrooms; event space with dining and food service; a medical clinic; a library; and spaces for general administration and collaboration. In addition, Skanska will add 6,500 square meters to the school’s existing STEM Wing that will accommodate new biology and chemistry classrooms and labs; collaboration and maker spaces; a culinary arts kitchen and student restaurant with seating; and a 300-square-meter lobby and Community Wellness Room in the existing Tappan Athletic Complex.
Skanska will also perform substantial upgrades to all the school’s existing buildings, landscaping and streetscapes.
Construction began in November 2018, and completion is scheduled for the third quarter of 2021. The project architect is William Rawn Associates.
