Skanska builds the new Tångvalla school campus and sports field in Falsterbo, Sweden, for about SEK 500M
Skanska has signed a contract with the Municipality of Vellinge to build the new Tångvalla school campus and sports field in Falsterbo, Sweden. The contract is worth about SEK 500M, which will be included in the Swedish order bookings for the third quarter 2023.
In addition to a new two-storey school building and a sports hall, the project also includes a preschool and a new sports field. The new school for students up to grade 9 will accommodate up to 450 students and includes classrooms of various sizes, a kitchen and canteen, a library, and spaces for administration. The preschool will be built with nine sections for a total of 180 children and the sports hall will be full-sized with a grandstand, a gymnastics section, and a youth center. In addition, a new full size artificial turf pitch for football will be built. The project also includes demolishing the existing school and sports hall.
The ambition is to certify the project according to the Nordic Swan and Environmental Building, level Gold.
Construction is scheduled to start in the fourth quarter of this year and the project is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2026.
