Skanska engaged in project development and construction in Tampere, Finland, for SEK 200 M
Skanska's Finnish subsidiary Skanska Finland Oy is planning to develop and construct office premises in Tampere. The investment is estimated at about FIM 150 M, or approximately SEK 200 M. The project is in the planning stage and negotiations are under way with potential clients for the properties.
The property development project involves five properties totaling about 15,000 sq. m. adjacent to Tampella's former head office in central Tampere.
This project is being realized through Skanska acquiring building rights from the Finnish real estate company Sponda Oyj. Concurrently, Skanska is selling building rights in Esbo, near Helsinki, to Sponda. The companies have agreed to jointly develop the office project in Esbo.
The transactions are in line with Skanska's strategy. Project development is a core element of Skanska's strategy to offer customers service in the entire value chain, from idea through implementation.
