Skanska to build a soccer stadium and sports hall in Denmark for SEK 170 million

Skanska’s Danish subsidiary, Skanska Jensen, has been commissioned to extend a sports center in Århus on Jutland, Denmark. The contract, which is worth

DKK 149 million, or SEK 170 million, has been signed with the Municipality of Århus.

The project covers the modernization and extension of an existing soccer stadium plus the building of a new 13,000 m2 sports hall.

The new sports hall will accommodate 4,800 spectators. In addition to service facilities for participants, the hall will feature a cafeteria and restaurant. The hall is scheduled for completion in March 2001.

The existing soccer stadium is to be renovated and expanded to accommodate 21,000 spectators, compared with its current capacity of 14,500. The new stadium is scheduled for completion in July 2001.
