Skanska wins contract for Moorgate Exchange project, London, worth GBP 53 M, about SEK 565 M

Skanska has been awarded a contract worth GBP 53 M, about SEK 565 M, for the Moorgate Exchange project, adjacent to Moorgate Station, in the City of London. The client is Telex SARL and the contract will be included in order bookings for Skanska UK for the second quarter 2012.

Skanska will be providing Telex SARL with construction finance for the project assisted by its newly formed Project Development group in the UK. Skanska will draw upon its sustainability credentials and knowledge, to work with the client to achieve both BREEAM Excellent and LEED Platinum ratings for the new building.

Skanska will be responsible for the design and construction of the building, which covers an area of 20,400 square meters and incorporates 12-storey office accommodation, two roof level plant floors, and a two-storey basement.

Work will start immediately, with completion scheduled for January 2014.

Skanska UK reported revenues of approximately SEK 12.7 billion in 2011, with about 4,200 employees. The company is active in building and civil construction, utilities and building services. In the UK, Skanska is also a leader in Public Private Partnerships, PPPs, also known as Privately Financed Initiatives, PFIs. Skanska has also initiated the development of homes for the UK market.
