Skanska’s Finnish subsidiary will start a major residential construction project in central Helsinki. The whole project is valued at FIM 500 million.

SKANSKA STARTS MAJOR RESIDENTIAL PROJECT IN HELSINKI

Skanska’s Finnish subsidiary will start a major residential construction project in central Helsinki. The whole project is valued at FIM 500 million.

The project will include about 700 apartments with a total surface area of 40.000 m2. Besides new apartments, commercial and office premises totaling 2.000 m2 will be built. The traffic arrange-ments for the quarter including 500 parking lots will be constructed under the yard area.

Skanska has acquired the needed building right by a deal signed with the Finnish Tradeka Corpora-tion and has previ-ously bought the building sites.

Construction work will begin in April 1997 and the whole project is expected to be completed in 1999.
