Skanska to build student village with passive house standard in Trondheim, Norway

Skanska has signed a contract for the construction of Lerkendal Studentby in Trondheim, Norway, worth NOK 288 M, about SEK 345 M. The student housing will have passive house standard. The client is Studentskipnaden. The order will be included in the order bookings for Skanska Norway for the first quarter of 2012.

In April Skanska will start the construction of 612 apartments near the Lerkendal stadium in Trondheim. The student housing will contribute to a significant boost to the students in Trondheim. With the passive house standard, the project will have a clear environmental profile.

Skanska Norway focuses on construction and civil engineering operations. The unit has approximately 4,200 employees. In 2011, Skanska Norway reported revenue of SEK 12.5 billion. In Norway, Skanska is also active in the development of residential, commercial properties and public private partnerships (PPP) projects.
