New senior Vice President Information Technology at Skanska
Birgitta Strömberg has been appointed Senior Vice President Information Technology and a member of Group Management at Skanska. She will be responsible for all of the Group's IT areas, including Skanska Data. In conjunction with the appointment of the new IT manager, IT matters are being assigned higher priority as part of Group Management since these issues are increasingly becoming a strategic resource for Skanska.

Birgitta Strömberg has been appointed Senior Vice President Information Technology and a member of Group Management at Skanska. She will be responsible for all of the Group's IT areas, including Skanska Data. In conjunction with the appointment of the new IT manager, IT matters are being assigned higher priority as part of Group Management since these issues are increasingly becoming a strategic resource for Skanska.
Birgitta Strömberg, 50, served most recently within the Scania Group where she was responsible for strategic planning of information systems and IT since 1991. Previously, Birgitta Strömberg operated her own consulting firm, with a focus on information strategy and served as a Deputy Assistant Under Secretary at the Finance Ministry, where she dealt with EDP matters within government administration.
"IT is an important tool in Skanska's focus on customer orientation and internationalization," says Claes Björk, president of Skanska. "Birgitta Strömberg's experience in strategic IT work will be a valuable asset for the company."
Birgitta Strömberg will assume her new position on April 1.
