Skanska receives SEK 750 M order in Hong Kong - of which half to Skanska
Skanska's Hong Kong based subsidiary, Gammon Skanska, has received an order to construct a 29-story building in Hong Kong. The contract is valued at HKD 550 million, about SEK 750 million. Skanska holds a 50 percent interest in Gammon Skanska and consequently, receives SEK 375 million of the total order value. The customer is Glory Star Investments.
The project comprises a total floor area of 26,000 square meters and includes a 14-story office block, an eight-story restaurant block, three-story shopping center and four floors of basement car parking. Work begins immediately, with completion scheduled at year-end 2002.
The building will feature innovative environmental systems that provide significant energy savings and an improved indoor climate. The advanced solution utilizes a double-glazed façade, an 'active' curtain wall, which is mechanically ventilated and integrated with the building climate control system. Computer-controlled venetian blinds are linked to solar sensors.
