Skanska invests about SEK 200 M in new eco-friendly Malmö office in Hyllie district

Skanska starts development of the property Klipporna in the new sustainable district Hyllie in Malmö, Sweden. During summer 2014 the Skanska Malmö office will start moving, in a first phase comprising approximately 6,500 square meters with an investment of SEK 200 M. Construction will be made by Skanska Sweden.

About 400 Skanska employees will move to Klipporna. At the same the leasing process for the next stages start. The project will, when fully constructed, consist of three buildings totaling 21,000 square meters of office space.

“This is Skanska’s first project in Hyllie, the sustainable district in Malmö. Skanska’s choice of moving the Malmö office to an environmentally friendly property shows that we live by our ambitions to develop a sustainable urban environment”, says Camilla Wieslander, CEO of Skanska Öresund.

Klipporna will be certified at the highest level, Platinum, according to the environmental certification system LEED. The property will be characterized by several new eco-friendly solutions and all materials in the building are inspected from an environmental and health point of view. During construction 95 percent of all waste is recycled.

Skanska Commercial Development Nordic initiates and develops property projects in offices, logistics, business premises and commercial buildings. The company’s operations are concentrated in the three metropolitan regions in Sweden, the Copenhagen region in Denmark, the Oslo region in Norway, as well as Helsinki in Finland. The development of logistics and volume retail properties is conducted in strategic locations in Sweden, Denmark and Finland.
