Skanska sells Swedish properties for SEK 366 M

At year-end, Skanska sold a number of Swedish properties at a total value of SEK 366 M, which yields a capital gain of SEK 178 M. The properties, with 31.000 square meters of total floor space, are mainly located in the Stockholm and Gothenburg areas. The largest sale, in terms of value, is that of the district courthouse in Gothenburg. It was sold to AMF(s) for SEK 204 M, with a capital gain of SEK 73 M.

SKANSKA SELLS SWEDISH PROPERTIES FOR SEK 366 M

At year-end, Skanska sold a number of Swedish properties at a total value of SEK 366 M, which yields a capital gain of SEK 178 M. The properties, with 31.000 square meters of total floor space, are mainly located in the Stockholm and Gothenburg areas. The largest sale, in terms of value, is that of the district courthouse in Gothenburg. It was sold to AMF(s) for SEK 204 M, with a capital gain of SEK 73 M.

Combined with the sale of the remaining buildings held for investment purposes in the U.S. that was announced before Christmas, Skanska has sold properties during the past month for a total of SEK 700 M, yielding a capital gain of SEK 313 M. The total floor space of the divested properties is 75.000 square meters.

Sale of the district courthouse in Gothenburg will be recognized in the 1998 accounts, while the other sales are shown in the 1997 accounts.
