  Skanska consortium to build US stadium for USD 325 M, approximately SEK 2.9 billion   Beacon Skanska, Skanska’s US subsidiary has been selected to design and construct the New Patriots Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts. The order is valued at USD 325 M, approximately SEK 2.9 billion. Beacon Skanska will carry out the assignment in the form of a joint venture with Barton Malow Company. Skanska’s share of the joint venture is 51%. The stadium building, which is the home ground for the New England Patriots, will be completed in time for the start of the American football NFL season in 2002. The New Patriots Stadium will have a total area of 170,000 square meters and accommodate a total of about 75,000 spectators, including 80 luxury suites and 6,000 special seats for club members. In addition to two restaurants and the New England Patriots souvenir shop, the stadium will also have a 4,000 square-meter training facility. The arena can also be modified to accommodate an international soccer field. The stadium will have a state-of-the art sound system and HDTV screens. Beacon Skanska and Barton Malow have been working together for over 35 years.
