Skanska to construct railway structure in Bærum, Norway, for about SEK 327 M
Skanska Norway and Jernbaneverket Utbygging has signed a contract for development and construction of Høvik Station in Bærum, Norway. The contract is worth NOK 282 M, about SEK 327 M, and includes construction work for more than one kilometer of railway, drainage and water systems, new platforms, technical units and upgrading of an existing road bridge. The order will be included in order bookings for Skanska Norway for the first quarter 2013.
Works are scheduled to commence in April 2013 and will be completed in May 2015.
Skanska Norway focuses on construction and civil engineering operations. The unit has approximately 4,500 employees. In 2012, Skanska Norway reported revenue of SEK 12.5 billion. In Norway, Skanska is also active in the development of residential, commercial properties and public private partnerships (PPP) projects.
