New Coca-Cola construction project for Skanska
Coca-Cola Drycker Sverige (CCDS) is extending its plant in Haninge in southern Stockholm. Less than two years after completion of the Haninge facility an expansion is needed. The SEK 100 M contract was awarded to Skanska, in keen competition with other construction companies.
The warehouse and production floor space in the current plant is being extended by 13,000 m2. The order placed by Coca-Cola Drycker is worth approximately SEK 100 M, and is a sign of continued confidence in Skanska, which built the first phase of the facility.
"We have made a good start, with a favorable sales trend during the period we have been building up our own production," says Joachim Cederblad, President of CCDS. "We are confident about our future sales prospects, and the new extension will enable us to increase our production of beverages for the domestic market."
"As in the previous phase, Coca-Cola has high quality requirements, and there is a stringent timetable. We are particularly pleased to note Coca-Cola's continued confidence. Skanska is good at this type of large customized project," says Lennart Bergström, Business Manager of Skanska Building.
Work is due to start as soon as possible, and is expected to be completed in September 2000.
