Skanska to build schools in the U.S. for USD 50 M, about SEK 340 M
Skanska has signed a contract with the Clover Park School District to build two new elementary schools on the grounds of Joint Base Lewis-McChord, near Lakewood, Wash. The contract value is USD 50 M, about SEK 340 M, which is included in order bookings for Skanska USA Building for the third quarter 2012.
The two elementary schools, Carter Lake and Hillside, will total more than 12,260 square meters. They will replace existing elementary schools that will remain operational during construction. The scope of work also includes demolition of the old school buildings and site work such as additional parking and new sports fields.
Work is under way on both schools, which will be completed in time for the 2013-14 school year.
