Capital gain on sale of Sandvik shareholdings taxable according to supreme administrative court
As a result of the capital gain of slightly more than SEK 9.1 billion yielded from the sale of shares in Sandvik, Skanska will pay tax of nearly SEK 2.6 billion. This is the consequence of a decision by the Supreme Administrative Court to approve the previous ruling from Summer 1997 by the Council for Advanced Tax Rulings. Skanska has posted a provision to cover this amount in the interim report for the periods ended June 30 and September 30, 1997.
