Skanska acquires majority shareholding in Exbud, Poland’s leading construction company

Skanska has obtained 75-percent ownership of the Polish Exbud construction company. The majority holding was achieved after Skanska’s initial offer to Exbud’s shareholders in April. Skanska had previously acquired 9.99 percent of the shares in the Polish company.

May 2, 2000   Skanska acquires majority shareholding in Exbud, Poland’s leading construction company Skanska has obtained 75-percent ownership of the Polish Exbud construction company. The majority holding was achieved after Skanska’s initial offer to Exbud’s shareholders in April. Skanska had previously acquired 9.99 percent of the shares in the Polish company. The buying price for the 65 percent most recently acquired shares was PLZ 45 per share, corresponding to approximately SEK 900 M. In total, Skanska has invested about SEK 1,040 M. In accordance with Polish regulations for public offers, a second offer phase will be initiated later. Further details of this will be announced at a press conference in Warsaw on May 18.
