Skanska lands new contract in Estonia

SKANSKA LANDS NEW CONTRACT IN ESTONIA
Finnish Skanska Oy's subsidiary, Skanska Ehituse AS, has received an order to build Biocentrum, a new research and development center with laboratories in Tartu, Estonia. The contract amounts to about EEK200M, corresponding to SEK 114M. The customer is the Social Ministry of Estonia and the project is being financed by the World Bank and The Estonian government.
All departments for medical research and training in Tartu will be housed in Biomedicum, with capacity for 1,000 students. The work will also involve installation of permanent equipment, covering about 13,500 sq. m. Work will begin immediately and is scheduled to be completed by the end of the summer in 1999.
Skanska Ehituse AS will carry out the project as a join-venture with the Estonian construction company AS Kroger & Sumberg Ehituse.
