Skanska sells property in Malmö for SEK 52 M, with gain of SEK 43 M
Skanska Project Development Sweden is selling the Gamen 15 property in Malmö Municipality to a local investor for SEK 52 M. The capital gain amounts to SEK 43 M and is being reported in the fourth quarter of 2003.
Gamen 15 is an office property covering 4,300 square meters, centrally located
in Malmö. The building was constructed in 1981 by Skanska and the largest tenants are the County Labor Board and the National Prison and Probation Administration, which have been in the building for many years.
Skanska Project Development Sweden focuses primarily on the initiation, development, management and sale of commercial property projects (offices, logistics and volume retail centers). The main emphasis is on Stockholm, Gothenburg and the Öresund region
During 2003, Skanska's project development operations in Sweden and Central Europe have sold properties totaling SEK 7.3 billion, at a combined capital gain of around SEK 2.3 billion. Ninety percent of the capital gain is from projects completed during the past five years.
