Skanska sells its shareholding in Jabo Trä
Skanska is divesting its 40 per cent shareholding in Jabo Träprodukter AB (formerly Rörvik Timber), which is traded on the O-list of the Stockholm Exchange. In two separate transactions, AB Geijer Trä and Ittur Industrier AB is each acquiring half of Skanska's shareholding.
The sale is expected to result in a minor capital loss for the Skanska Group.
Skanska has held the shares in Jabo Trä since 1997 when it received the shareholding in a structural transaction in which Skanska and Rörvik Industrier combined its sawmill operations into a joint-venture company, Rörvik Timber. With today's two agreements, Skanska has facilitated an industrially correct solution for Rörvik Timber.
The sale of non-core assets is part of Skanska's strategic focus on its core businesses - construction-related services and project development.
