Skanska to construct office building in Stavanger, Norway, for about SEK 380 M
Skanska has secured a contract to construct a new office building at Forus in Stavanger, Norway. The contract amounts to NOK 330 M, about SEK 380 M, which will be included in the order bookings for the third quarter. The client is C5 Eiendom AS.
The project comprises a new head office with an area of more than 25,000 square meters for the tenant Apply Sørco. The office building will be six stories high, with capacity for 1,000 new workplaces, parking spaces and service rooms. The project will be implemented in Forus, between the E39 Highway and Sola Airport.
“Since we have been involved in this project from the start, we have been able to utilize our project development expertise and thus influence solutions from day one. The cooperation with C5 Eiendom has been excellent and we look forward to completing the project,” says Petter Eiken, President of Skanska Norway.
Construction will commence in February 2012 and is estimated to be completed by January 1, 2014.
Skanska Norway focuses on construction and civil engineering operations. The unit has approximately 4,200 employees. In 2010, Skanska Norway reported revenue of about SEK 11 billion. In Norway, Skanska is also active in the development of residential, commercial properties and public private partnerships (PPP) projects.
