Skanska Real Estate Stockholm has signed a 6-year contract with the Swedish Customs to lease out premises with a floor space of 9,000 sq. m. in the "Dykaren" property on Kungsholmen in Stockholm. In addition to offices, the premises will also be used for training and to house a museum. The Swedish Customs will begin to move into the property gradually from January 2000. The annual rent will amount to approximately SEK 18 M.

The 12,000 sq. m. "Dykaren" property was purchased by Skanska from the insurance company Länsförsäkringar Stockholm earlier this year. This acquisition is part of Skanska's strategy to develop and upgrade properties. In conjunction with the leasing to the Swedish Customs, the property will be modernized and adapted to the needs of the customer.

"This transaction means that we strengthen our presence in the central Stockholm leasing market, at the same time as we are pleased to be able to assist in resolving Tullverket's need of premises," says Fredrik Wirdenius, President, Skanska Real Estate Stockholm.
