Skanska sells Copenhagen property with capital gain of SEK 90 M

Skanska has sold the Midtermolen 1-3 office property in Copenhagen for DKK 330 M, approximately SEK 360 M. The buyer is the insurance company Almindelig Brand. Skanska’s sales gain compared with the book value amounts to approximately SEK 90 M.

May 5, 2000   Skanska sells Copenhagen property with capital gain of SEK 90 M   Skanska has sold the Midtermolen 1-3 office property in Copenhagen for DKK 330 M, approximately SEK 360 M. The buyer is the insurance company Almindelig Brand. Skanska’s sales gain compared with the book value amounts to approximately SEK 90 M. Midtermolen in downtown Copenhagen was developed and completed by Skanska in the mid-1990s. The property, which comprises approximately 13,000 sq. m., is leased to organizations such as Arthur Andersen and the United Nations.

"The sale is in keeping with our strategy of selling completely developed properties. We are concentrating on the continued development of new projects within the expansive Øresund region," says Søren Elster, director of Skanska Øresund.

Concurrent with the above sales, Skanska Øresund acquired about 11,000 sq. m. of development property from the Danish real estate company Dades.
