Skanska is developing three new cinema centers in Denmark

Skanska is developing three new cinema centers in Denmark for the German-Belgian movie-theater chain CinemaxX. The first specially designed cinema center based on the Multiplex Concept, with seating for 1,850, is being constructed in Odense. Similar facilities are planned for Aarhus and Aalborg.

The cinema center in Odense is part of a major mall project totalling about 11,600 sq. m., featuring shops, restaurants and fitness centers, with parking in the basement level. The total investment amounts to about DKK 175 million, or approximately SEK 210 million.

The Danish subsidiary Skanska Jensen is responsible for project development and will also construct and lease the facilities. The company has initiated negotiations for the sale of the project which is scheduled for completion in September 2000.

Skanska Jensen is also working with the development of large cinema centers in Aarhus and Aalborg for CinemaxX, who will be the anchor tenant. CinemaxX has 38 movie theaters in Germany, hosting 12 million moviegoers annually.
