Skanska’s Polish subsidiary Exbud will construct a highway bypass in Krakow. The order is valued at EURO 36.6 million, SEK 310 million. The customer is the Polish Road Administration. Phare, the EU’s agency for support to Central European countries that are candidates for EU membership, will account for 50 % of project financing.

September 11, 2000   Skanska’s new Polish subsidiary awarded road contract in Krakow for SEK 310 million   Skanska’s Polish subsidiary Exbud will construct a highway bypass in Krakow. The order is valued at EURO 36.6 million, SEK 310 million. The customer is the Polish Road Administration. Phare, the EU’s agency for support to Central European countries that are candidates for EU membership, will account for 50 % of project financing. The assignment involves 2 kilometers of expressway, which is part of the southern bypass on A4. In addition, the contract includes ramps and connecting bridges to the local road network. The project is scheduled for 28 months. Skanska acquired Exbud, Poland’s leading construction company, earlier this year. Exbud is active in the entire construction industry, both building construction and civil engineering. The company posted sales in 1999 of about SEK 5.1 billion.
