Skanska to rebuild the Karlstad Central Hospital for approximately SEK 200 M, with a possibility for additional SEK 200 M
The Värmland County Properties Administration has commissioned Skanska to renovate and rebuild the Central Hospital in Karlstad. The order is worth approximately SEK 200 M, with a possibility for a further SEK 200 M.
PRESS RELEASE, APRIL 29, 1999 38/99 Skanska to rebuild the Karlstad Central Hospital for approximately SEK 200 M, with a possibility for additional SEK 200 M The Värmland County Properties Administration has commissioned Skanska to renovate and rebuild the Central Hospital in Karlstad. The order is worth approximately SEK 200 M, with a possibility for a further SEK 200 M. The project will be conducted in the form of a partnership cooperation, whereby Skanska and Värmland County Properties Administration will create a joint project organization to drive the project from concept stage to planning and implementation. The project will be handled on a design-construct contract basis. The contract includes an extended guarantee undertaking and certain operating responsibilities. In negotiations Skanska documented how the company and its customer would jointly undertake to meet the goals of the project, namely: satisfied tenants, low annual costs, sound premises, easily managed facilities and a minimal environmental impact. We can utilize the Group's collective know-how and experience to achieve our customer's goals and secure the best possible end result," says Hans Hörnqvist, Divisional Manager of Skanska Northern Sweden The initial project includes an area of approximately 20,000 square meters, with a possibility to engage in a secondary project totaling an additional 20,000 square meters. In the first stage, the hospital's surgical and intensive care departments are to be rebuilt. The project could also extend to a certain amount of new building. Work will commence immediately and completion of the first stage is scheduled for December 2001.
