Skanska to construct cultural center in Stjørdal, Norway, for NOK 381 M, about SEK 434 M
Skanska Norway has signed a contract with Stjørdal Kulturutvikling AS for the construction of a regional cultural center in Stjørdal, Norway. The contract is worth NOK 381 M, about SEK 434 M, and will be included in order bookings for Skanska Norway for the second quarter 2013.
The construction comprises of a total of 11,500 square meters and will contain a church, library, education center, several cinemas, dance halls, concert halls, a gallery and meeting rooms. There will also be a 4,200 square meters parking under ground level.
Preparatory works have started, construction start May 2 and will be completed in May 2015.
Skanska Norway focuses on construction and civil engineering operations. The unit has approximately 4,500 employees. In 2012, Skanska Norway reported revenue of SEK 12.5 billion. In Norway, Skanska is also active in the development of residential, commercial properties and public private partnerships (PPP) projects.
