New Group Environmental Manager at Skanska
Axel Wenblad has been named Group Environmental Manager at Skanska, responsible for overseeing the Group's comprehensive environmental issues.
PRESS RELEASE, FEBRUARY 18, 1999 18/99 New Group Environmental Manager at Skanska Axel Wenblad has been named Group Environmental Manager at Skanska, responsible for overseeing the Group's comprehensive environmental issues. Axel Wenblad is 49 year old and has recently left the County Administrative Board of Västra Götaland where he has served as the Environmental Director since 1994. Prior to this, Axel Wenblad was Chief Environmental Officer at Volvo, where he coordinated the environmental work of the Volvo Group. He is also very experienced in international environmental work. Axel Wenblad will assume his new position on May 25, 1999 and succeed Ingela Bendrot, who left Skanska to become Deputy Chief Executive Officer at the City of Stockholm Executive Office. "Skanska will continue to prioritize environmental issues," says Skanska's Executive Vice President for Group Development Per Westlund. "Axel has experience in international environmental issues as well as those encountered by large corporations and authorities, which is an excellent background for this type of work. His skills will be a valuable addition to the Skanska Group's efforts to strengthen and develop environmental work and introduce environmental management systems in all the Group companies throughout the world."
