Skanska has won an order in Russia for 32 MUSD, about SEK 256 million, covering construction of new production, warehouse and technical facilities for Philip Morris Izhora tobacco factory in the Leningrad region.

Skanska has won an order in Russia for 32 MUSD, about SEK 256 million, covering construction of new production, warehouse and technical facilities for Philip Morris Izhora tobacco factory in the Leningrad region.
Skanska will construct the foundation, frame, facade and roofing for the 70,000 sq.m. buildings. Work, which has already begun at the site in the Lomonosov district near the international airport, will at its peak employ 500 persons. The construction time is estimated at one year. Production of cigarettes is to begin by 2000.
Currently, Skanska's projects in Russia include e.g. Russia's first IKEA department store in Moscow, a razor blade factory for American Gillette in St. Petersburg and a chewing gum plant being built for Danish Dandy in Novgorod.
