PRESS RELEASE, MARCH 17, 1999 27/99 Skanska first with swedish funding program in swedish kronor and euro Through Skanska Financial Services AB, guaranteed by Skanska AB, Skanska has reached an agreement with five leading banks in the Swedish capital market to arrange a domestic Medium Term Note (MTN) Program totaling SEK 5 billion. The program provides Skanska the possibility to issue bonds in Swedish kronor or euros with a term of at least one and at most ten years. Backed by its strong balance sheet and its advanced position among the world's largest construction companies, Skanska can turn to the growing financing market of funding programs which in Sweden is used mainly by some other large exchange-listed companies as well as government or government-related companies. The borrowing through Skanska's program is aimed primarily at investors in the Nordic region, particularly Sweden and Finland. Skanska is the first company whose Swedish MTN program provids the opportunity to borrow in both SEK and EURO. The company is also the first in the European construction sector to establish this particular type of funding program.
