Skanska aquires Göinge Mekaniska
Skanska Stålteknik has reached an agreement concerning the acquisition of all shares in Göinge Mekaniska AB. The acquisition will further strengthen the Skanska steel engineering company’s skills and expertise in the steel structure sector.

Skanska Stålteknik has reached an agreement concerning the acquisition of all shares in Göinge Mekaniska AB. The acquisition will further strengthen the Skanska steel engineering company’s skills and expertise in the steel structure sector.
Göinge Mekaniska has specialized in complete superstructures for arenas and halls for industrial, sporting and commercial purposes, an area in which the company has developed a concept of its own based on industrial construction techniques. Göinge Mekaniska is the market leader in Sweden. Business operations are conducted in the form of contract assignments in all parts of Sweden and exports to Germany, Russia and Norway. Projected revenues in 1997 are expected to reach USD 12 M, with 45 employees.
Skanska Stålteknik is active in the steel structure sector for housing construction, industrial installa-tions and glass facades. Based in Kalmar, in southern Sweden, the company has 220 employees and annual sales of nearly USD 40 M.
