Skanska building for Metro and Carlsberg

Skanska’s Danish subsidiary, C.G. Jensen A/S, has been selected to build a control and maintenance center for Metro, Copenhagen’s new subway system project. The center will be used primarily to control the system’s unmanned trains but will also house administrative and engineering functions. The order for the 12,000 square meter building is worth USD 19 million.

SKANSKA BUILDING FOR METRO AND CARLSBERG

Skanska’s Danish subsidiary, C.G. Jensen A/S, has been selected to build a control and maintenance center for Metro, Copenhagen’s new subway system project. The center will be used primarily to control the system’s unmanned trains but will also house administrative and engineering functions. The order for the 12,000 square meter building is worth USD 19 million.

The client is the Italian train manufacturer, Ansaldo Transporti S.p.A., which will also be responsi-ble for the operations of the subway system for a five-year period. Work will commence in October this year and will be completed in April 1999.

In addition to this order, C.G. Jensen has also been commissioned by the giant Carlsberg brewing group to build a new distribution center in the Danish capital. The order, worth USD 4 million, is for the construction of a 6,400 square meter warehouse. Work has already started and is scheduled for completion in March 1998.
