Rail Administration and Skanska sign agreement

The Swedish National Rail Administration and Skanska have reached agreement on the division of costs for the decontamination work and payment of compensation following the environmental accident at the Hallandsåsen ridge tunnel construction project.The payment of compensation is nearing its end. Of the 206 cases, only a few remain. Around SEK 30 million has already been paid out. Water samples show that the current acrylamide content is now below the applicable values for drinking water, but regular analyses are continuing in accordance with the control program in use. Skanska is to complete the sealing work in the existing tunnels, known as the lining. Subsequently, the current contract between Skanska and the National Rail Administration will be concluded.
