Skanska awarded contract to build marine transfer facility in New York City, USA, for USD 146 M, about SEK 990 M

In a joint venture with Trevcon Construction, Skanska will build a new facility on the East River in Manhattan called the East 91st Street Marine Transfer Station. The client is the New York City Department of Design and Construction, on behalf of the New York City Department of Sanitation. The total contract is worth USD 181 M, about SEK 1.2 billion. Skanska will include its full contract amount, USD 146 M, about SEK 990 M, in the order bookings for Skanska USA Civil for the fourth quarter 2012.

Skanska will complete the demolition of the existing facility and access ramp, build a new approximately 8,000 square-meter facility, and reconstruct a new access ramp. Work will begin in December 2012 and is expected to be complete by March 2016.
