Skanska expanding Stockholm exhibition center for SEK 200 M
Skanska has been contracted to expand and remodel the Stockholm International Fairs exhibition center. The order, including land improvement, is valued at slightly more than SEK 200 M. The customer is Mässfastigheter i Stockholm AB.
PRESS RELEASE, DECEMBER 1, 1998 90/98 Skanska expanding Stockholm exhibition center for SEK 200 M Skanska has been contracted to expand and remodel the Stockholm International Fairs exhibition center. The order, including land improvement, is valued at slightly more than SEK 200 M. The customer is Mässfastigheter i Stockholm AB. The contract covers an extension of the "E" hall at the exhibition center, which will be 13,000 sq. m. larger with several new entrances, loading ramp and technical room and installations. The project covers a total of about 17,000 sq. m. in addition to parking space. "We are pleased to have gained the confidence of Mässfastigheter i Stockholm AB. The competition was intense, with many bidders," says Torbjörn Wållgren, Business Manager, Skanska Sweden, Buildings Division - Stockholm which won the contract in a bids competition. Concurrently, Skanska Road Stockholm, received a land improvement contract amounting to about SEK 13 M which is included in the above contract total. This assignment covers excavation and pile-driving for the building construction. Work begins immediately and will be concluded in December 1999.
