Lauttasaari and Keilaniemi metro stations

  • Lansimetro Keilaniemi
  • Lansimetro Lauttasaari

Metro traffic in the Helsinki metropolitan area is expanding 14 km westwards with eight new metro stations. Skanska is in charge of construction work for two of them, Keilaniemi and Lauttasaari. In addition to the metro stations, the contract includes construction of aboveground entrances, maintenance tunnels, and technical facilities. Additionally, Skanska will construct the tunnels in Karhusaari and Ruoholahti-Lauttasaari. The first phase of construction will be completed in spring 2016, and metro traffic will begin during fall 2016.

Skanska started its construction work at Keilaniemi and Lauttasaari stations in 2013 after the tunnel excavation was completed. Starting with station foundations, the site has been built level by level as far as 30 m below ground, where the platforms are located. Both stations will also have two separate entrance buildings.
