George Washington University BIM & COBie/OM Strategy Program

  • GWU Rend1
  • GWU Rend2

Leveraging our builder’s expertise with Building Information Modeling (BIM), Skanska is providing consulting services to George Washington University’s Facilities Management Group, Washington, D.C., to develop a comprehensive BIM and operations management strategy that will enable the FM team to manage all of GW’s properties virtually with the same set of standards. This three-phased program will be implemented across GW’s multiple campuses over the next three years and will result in a detailed plan that outlines BIM design and construction guidelines, as well as operations and asset management protocols. These new standards will allow GW to control how each building project is designed and documented, making it easier for the FM to manage what information is detailed throughout the project, as well as how the information is transferred into their asset management system once the project is complete.
