Great Ormond Street Hospital
Great Ormond Street Hospital
Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) is one of the top five paediatric hospitals in the world.
We are working with the hospital to redevelop some of its buildings to create medical and research buildings that will enable it to care for even more children.
Supporting the hospital’s vision
Our work on an existing building will create the Premier Inn Clinical Building and complete the Mittal Children’s Medical Centre.
This supports the hospital’s vision of providing modern facilities for all acute in-patients, where a parent or carer can stay by their child’s bedside in comfort.
The building will provide:
- 116 beds
- two integrated operating theatres
- a post-anaesthesia care unit
Working in a live environment, we are partially demolishing four storeys and creating five new levels to link with current facilities. This will make the hospital more efficient too, as internal journeys through the building will be shorter.
The new facility will welcome patients and their carers from 2017.
World-class facility
Skanska has signed a contract with Great Ormond Street Hospital to build the Zayed Centre for Research into Rare Disease in Children in London, UK.
This is the third phase of redevelopment for the world-renowned medical facility. It will support the hospital's vision of driving forward new treatments and cures for children with rare diseases. Skanska will be responsible for the design, construction and mechanical and electrical fit-out of the facility, which will operate as a partnership between Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust, University College London and Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity.
