  • Hilton C. Buley Library

Skanska provided construction management at risk services for the Hilton C. Buley Library renovation project at Southern Connecticut State University. This was the Phase 2 renovation project of an expansion that was completed in 2008. The Phase 1 newly constructed addition was occupied during Phase 2. The Phase 2 project consisted of the renovation of the original 115,000-SF, four-story library building with basement. Prior to the start of construction the interior and exterior of the building were demolished down to the structural steel, structural slabs and roofs.
A new building envelope was constructed, including block, brick, windows, doors and roofs. All necessary MEP systems were installed to meet the requirements of the interior fit-out program as well as to tie in to the previously built Phase 1 expansion. There is also a three-story curtain wall addition that connects floors 2,3 and 4 to the new addition.
