The new road, which Skanska is building, will be almost three kilometres long and includes a new steel bridge over the Olše River and a pedestrian underpass. The road will run from the junction of Nádražní Street with Ostravská Street (I/59) past the lake with the Karviná shipyard and the Darkov district. It will join the I/67 road behind the town at the so-called Darkovský moře. The bypass, for which the residents of Karviná have been waiting for more than 20 years, will relieve the city centre and take out transit traffic heading to Poland towards Český Těšín and vice versa.
