Finland’s first private research and service center for cancer treatment was constructed in Helsinki by Skanska. The facility is located in the Saukonpaasi seashore area between the Jätkänsaari and Ruoholahdi districts. The client was Docrates Oy, which is the first private clinic in Finland to specialize in cancer treatment. After its completion in the spring of 2009, the services of the center includes diagnostic, treatment and follow-up services, as well as chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments. In addition to the research and service center, the facility has space for companies and partners offering complementary services.
The cost of the entire project, including equipment, is approximately EUR 50 million.
Skanska also implemented extension during 2010 where patient hotel was built for 24 patients. In addition, new clean rooms for laboratories was built. The clinic operated normally during extension works.
