Anglian Water @one Alliance
Skanska’s long association with Anglian Water began in 2000 during the Asset Management Programme (AMP) 3 period and we became part of Anglian Water’s @one Alliance in 2005.
The @one Alliance delivery model requires close collaboration and open knowledge sharing between all partners, Anglian Water and the supply chain.
Made up of eight companies, including Anglian Water, each member of the Alliance brings skills such as design, project management, commercial and construction expertise all of which work collaboratively to help deliver Anglian Water’s capital programme.
We have recommitted to be part of the @one Alliance through the AMP8 period, which runs from 2025-20230. During this five-year period the @one Alliance is set to deliver a record £2.6bn package of investment. Much of this work is specifically targeted at protecting and enhancing the East of England’s natural environment and providing resilience to climate change.
Projects within each AMP period vary in size, from £250k to over £20m. During AMP6 and AMP7, the frameworks have drawn on Skanska’s ability to deliver large, complex, multidisciplinary construction schemes. These include water treatment works, water recycling treatment centres, pumping stations, river water abstraction systems and renewable energy facilities.
Projects range from minor civils works including pipelines, tanks, pump stations and small structures to the assembly of new treatment facilities and major installations of MEICA equipment for primary, secondary, and tertiary treatment, sludge processing and management facilities. Works also include the installation of renewable energy assets to reduce energy consumption, supporting Anglian Water’s journey to reach net zero by 2030.
Skanska has also been at the forefront of introducing digital systems and technologies to the Alliance, which has been fully embraced by Anglian Water. Through close working with Anglian Water’s asset and operational teams the Alliance now hand over a digital operational manual containing comprehensive asset information when projects complete.
