Skanska provided pre-construction and construction management services for a 63,000-SF recreational building, which acts as an activity hub for students.
The Student Activities Center will include a ballroom that can be subdivided for small functions, pre-function area, warming kitchen, game rooms, café, fitness assessment office, student government offices with support spaces, gymnasium, locker rooms, several multipurpose rooms and associated storage and ancillary spaces.

The project was completed on a fast-track schedule to ensure completion by the beginning of the Fall 2008 semester. One of the major challenges in regard to the schedule is the complex skin and structural package. As notable on the above rendering, the building requires many architectural slopes and skin types.

To ensure accurate interpretation of the drawings, as well as to protect the schedule, the team has coordinated regular meetings between the architect and subcontractors to review all complex design elements in detail.
