  • Pumping Stations G-370 / G-372

Skanska built two pumping stations in Palm Beach County, Fla. for use by the South Florida Water Management District to improve water quality in the Everglades.

The Skanska team built the pumping station substructure and superstructure, installed the pumps, diesel engine drive units and the right angle gear reducers, which were furnished by the client. Skanska also procured and installed mechanical equipment, electrical systems and instrumentation and controls.

On the construction side, Skanska built a levee and canal adjacent to the pumping station; the pumping station approach and discharge canals; concrete substructures; a fully enclosed building for the equipment; a one-time access bridge; a fuel storage area with containment; and a sanitary facility.
